Fishing is allowed in Singapore waters except in no-take zones. The one near our route is the Sisters' Islands Marine Park, which also covers the western reefs of St John's Island and Pulau Tekukor. Fishing there is banned, with fines up to S$3,000 (NParks). Your captain knows the boundaries and takes you to open water instead. Please release juveniles and protected species.
Fishing charter questions
How much does a fishing charter cost in Singapore?
Dedicated 4-hour fishing boats publish from about S$899. Our Riviera 34 starts at S$488 on weekdays for the whole boat, up to 10 guests, with rods and tackle on request for an extra charge.
Can we fish near Sisters' Islands?
No. Sisters' Islands Marine Park is a no-take zone, including the western reefs of St John's Island and Pulau Tekukor. The captain picks legal spots outside it.
What fish can we catch?
Usually grouper, snapper, trevally and queenfish, depending on tide and season. Squid is more common at night.
Can we fish and swim on the same charter?
Yes, but they are different spots. For fishing plus a swim or BBQ, book 5 to 6 hours so nobody feels rushed.
Is it OK for kids and first-timers?
Yes. The crew helps with rigs and bait, and there is a life jacket on board for every guest.
